Update

posted Jun 19, 2015, 1:08 PM by Joseph Carpenter   [ updated Jun 19, 2015, 1:10 PM ]

This page was created several years ago, but the links found here are still very good for those people working to learn more about their condition, or the condition of a loved one. There are even links here to help you learn HOW TO LEARN, so you can do your own research more effectively.

The principle behind creating this site was to build a gateway to good resources rather than reprint the resources themselves.

So, even if you find some information to be dated, most of the sites linked to from here will help you out.

Send me a message if you find this useful.

Thanks!

2010 Eyewitness New 4 Health Fair

2010 Eyewitness New 4 Health Fair

$600 to go...

Would anyone like to donate the $600 booth fee so our chapter can attend this event as an Exhibitor? See below.

Or, if 20 people donated $30, we could do an event like this and reach out to thousands of health conscious New Mexicans.

Would any of you patients, caregivers or friends be willing to volunteer your time to man the booth?

If not this year, then please consider this for next year.

September Chapter Meeting moved to McAllisters in Uptown

posted Sep 16, 2009, 4:43 PM by Joseph Carpenter

We have our monthly meeting of the NM chapter of the Vasculitis Foundation tomorrow night, September 17th at 6PM.

This month is a little different. We are going to try some new places and see what works best.

This month, we are trying out McAllisters Deli, in the Uptown Mall.

McAlister's Deli - Locations
"2200-A Louisiana Boulevard, NE
Albuquerque NM 87110
t: 505-884-5004
f: 505-884-5005
WiFi Enabled"

This is actually a little cheaper than the hotel restaurant we have been going to. It is also busier, so it is harder to reserve tables without confirmed number in the party.

Website title shortened for better pnemonic and

posted Jun 22, 2009, 2:11 PM by Joseph Carpenter

I am going around and shortening the names of things. Before I might have called this, "The website where you go to get lots of good information about vasculitis in New Mexico."

Then later I shortened that to, "Central NM Vasculitis - Vasculitis Foundation New Mexico."

But really, people are getting to know us as NMVasculitis.org, and that is enough.

The website, blog, Google Groups... all of it will change over.

Random thought about medical expenses

posted Jun 20, 2009, 10:36 PM by Joseph Carpenter

Here is a random thought...

One of the strangely comforting things about vasculitis is that once you max out your out of pocket expenses on the insurance, and no longer have to worry about the first big deductibles of the year, it is somehow liberating. I mean the worst is over, so the rest of the year becomes less worrisome.

You may quote me on that. -- Joseph Carpenter
